My dry skin: Going bananas

Hey everyone!

I don't like winter. I don't like the cold, I don't like the fact that I can't wear cute dresses, shorts and flip flops, I don't like that I can't go out as much as I want, but most of all, I don't like my skin in winter. I have very dry skin. In spring and summer it's bearable, if I moisturize every day and exfoliate once in a while, my skin is glowy and radiant. But this stops around October. Then my skin starts feeling tight, it gets flaky patches and eventually cracks and peels off. Plus, it can get itchy every now and then, so I can't help but get very stressed every winter with all of this.

Yesterday afternoon, I was talking to my brother about random stuff when he suddenly asked me:
-Hey, what's wrong with your forehead?
-What do you mean?
-I mean you're peeling off like crazy.

Oh well. I knew it. I went straight to exfoliate, but this alone wasn't going to help.

When my skin starts doing its own thing, I turn to nature and its wonders. I make a homemade mask that's really quick and easy and has really helped dealing with my dry skin through the years. I do it once in a week (or sometimes more if it's very cold).

You will need:
One ripe banana

A tablespoon of honey

A tablespoon of olive oil

Mash the banana with a fork, add the honey and the olive oil and mix everything together. Apply it on your face and leave it there for 15-20 minutes. Then rinse it off with water and voila! Your face is no longer dry and flaky.

Do you suffer from dry skin in the winter? Do you have any tips and tricks to help?
